In this post, I am going to give you 31 of my best IKEA finds in 2021. A lot of them (not all) lean sustainable, so enjoy!

It has been a while since I have been to IKEA, so I figured Spring was a good time to revisit them! My mom and I did a last-minute 24 hour trip to IKEA since the closest location is 4 ½ hours away. I curated a list and intentionally went into IKEA with a plan.

I love their prices and I love the quality of certain items. Because I do not go often I made sure to do my share of research before stepping foot inside the door. I also wanted to make sure the items I chose were somewhat eco-friendly regarding materials used.

For your benefit, I have curated a list of 31 IKEA finds that you are just going to love!

I can’t dive into a post about IKEA without doing a little housekeeping first. Shopping here is unlike any other retail experience in the world. I want to share a few of my tips for a seamless shopping experience to prevent any hiccups from happening.

HOW IKEA IS LAYED OUT

My first time into IKEA I was rather confused. I was led into a maze of kitchen showrooms and bedrooms. I was trying to pick out items and put them into my cart to finally realize nothing was for sale.

There are three main sections in IKEA:

The Showroom

This is where every item they have is staged and shown off to market style and aesthetic. The main goal here is to get the shopper excited about what items the store has to offer! Usually, IKEA showrooms are on the upper level.

Marketplace

This is where you can pick out all of the smaller items that don’t require large assembly. Kitchen items, bedding, pillows, plants, frames, and decor are typically found in the marketplace.

Warehouse

Once you have gone through the entire showroom and marketplace (which weaves around every corner of the building to show off every single item) you make your way into the large warehouse. This is where you can pick up your larger furniture items that require assembly. Patio furniture and the “As Is” discount area are also found in this section.

Tip Number One | Skip the showroom if you don’t have a lot of time

If you have never been to IKEA the showroom is a fun experience to see everything they have to offer. It is also a great place to get design inspiration. It does take a lot of time however to weave throughout the entire floor.

If you are pressed for time, when you walk through the entrance there is usually a door on the main level that will tell you to go straight to the marketplace. This is where the majority of your shopping will be.

Tip Number Two | Bring water and a snack or two

We spent a total of 4 hours shopping when we made our trip. Drinking water and grabbing a small snack out of your purse will ensure you can make good decisions on your purchases and don’t get overly exhausted!

It may seem silly but this tip is vital for a good IKEA experience, and not an exhausting one!

Tip Number Three | Bring your reusable bags

When checking out, IKEA does not bag up your items. You can buy their large blue bags for 0.99 cents per bag if you forget your own. I just like to use my reusable cloth grocery bags, and they can hold a lot.

Tip Number Four | Check out the “As Is” section near the checkout

You can find even better sales and deals in this section. This area contains items that have a few scratches or dents on them. Some items may even be opened or already assembled. When I looked, there was an entire bed frame that had been put together with no damage on it. See if you can get lucky!

For those of you who loathe the thought of assembling flat-pack furniture from IKEA, it just might be worth a look!

Tip Number Five | Call ahead of time to make sure they have the larger items in stock

This tip was essential for us since we were driving 4 hours toshop at IKEA. We wanted to make sure they had all of our “bigger furniture items” we were searching for. Because of COVID the stores are lower on inventory and may not carry everything you need.

Even if you have a location in your town it may be best to save yourself the hassle and time to check beforehand!

I love the cute gold and white lines of this can. It makes my heart happy to water my plants every day!

Number Sixteen| GRÖNADAL Rocking Chair

When we get our new home built I want to add these to our back patio! I love the cane look.

Number Seventeen | LINDBYN Mirror

Circle mirrors are my favorite lately! I have this style mirror over my fireplace on the mantle and it makes my day every time I see it. You can’t beat this price from IKEA.

Number Eighteen | BUSKBO Rattan Armchair

A cozy and cool addition to any home. I love rattan as well, and think it is making quite the comeback! This chair would be very cute in a reading room or playroom.

Number Nineteen |SMÅBIT Knife and Peeler

Teaching kids to cut is essential, but finding the tools to do it safely is hard to find. I was so bummed this set was out of stock at my last IKEA trip. I will be buying it next time!

Number Twenty | STRANDMOLKE Comforter

These are a great and economical option for down comforters (which can be so expensive)! I love that they offer all of the sizes. IKEA also has great kids bedding options too.

Number Twenty-One| MÅLA Table Top Holder and JÄTTELIK Coloring Roll

My kids absolutely love these! They also make great gifts that promote creativity and learning. I love that you can buy plain rolls of paper as well as the color sheet.

Number Twenty-Two | FLÅDIS Seagrass Basket

Such a darling basket for a great price! This item is definitely going in our new home!

Number Twenty-Three| KUNGSFORS Mesh Bags

I picked up a few packs of these produce bags and have been using them while I grocery shop. They are a great price and help reduce the use of single use plastics.

Number Twenty-Four | RIBBA Frames

Frames can be really expensive, but not from this IKEA find. I love their selection of frames and have a few of these RIBBA frames in my home!

Number Twenty-Five | TORKIS Laundry Basket

A classic laundry staple. Can’t go wrong with IKEA laundry baskets. I love mine to pieces.

Number Twenty- Six | FLITIGHET White Dish Set

I have been putting off replacing my dishes for years now. I finally got a set of plates, bowls, and pasta bowls for my cupboard. They are such a great price I don’t mind replacing them as they wear.

Number Twenty- Seven | ISTAD Resealable Bags

A nice option to have on hand if you need them. I prefer using reusable baggies but every once and awhile when I am at IKEA I buy a few boxes!

Number Twenty-Eight |SNIDADBasket

Another cute basket from IKEA that is a must have for any home. I think this would be cute for blankets near a couch!

Number Twenty-Nine |FLISAT Children’s Table

There are small sensory bins that can go in the middle compartments making this such a fun and versatile table. A great indoor or outdoor kids table.

Number Thirty |LEKA Baby Gym

A classic wooden baby item that will keep on giving well past your child’s baby years.

Number Thirty-One | MULA Baby Walker

They had these walkers at one of the indoor play areas in my town and all of the kids were drawn to them. A great balance toy, and it carries toys. Bonus.
