    On 06/25/2024 at approximately 1922 hours, Alaska State Troopers received a report of an injured hiker near Little Omalley Peak in the Chugach State Park in Anchorage. Alaska Mountain Rescue Group and the Rescue Coordination Center (RCC) responded to transport the hiker to a local hospital. AST would like to thank AMRG and RCC for their assistance.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/25/2024 at approximately 2210 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to E Carefree Drive in Wasilla for a report of a possible domestic disturbance occurring in a vehicle in the roadway. Investigation revealed Megan Metcalf, age 35 of Wasilla, and Lance Nezaticky, age 31 of Anchorage, had both operated the vehicle and were under the influence of alcohol. Further, there was loaded handgun in the vehicle. Both Metcalf and Nezaticky were arrested for DUI & MIW IV and remanded to the custody of the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility and held. Metcalf will be released on her own recognizance when sober and Nezaticky had a $500 bail.

    On 6/26/24 at approximately 0915, Alaska State Troopers conducted a traffic stop on a 2009 Toyota Camry for a moving violation near mile 56 of the Glenn Highway in Sutton. An investigation revealed that the driver, a 13-year-old female, had recently stolen the vehicle and was driving to Anchorage. The juvenile was arrested and transported to DJJ, to be released to a legal guardian.

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/26/2024 at 1300 hours, Alaska State Troopers responded to an apartment near Triple B Street in Wasilla to assist Office of Children Services. Investigation revealed, Richard Holmes 33 YOA and Kailyn Smith 28 YOA were violating conditions of their probation by having a firearm and drugs inside the residence. Both parties were arrested and remanded at Mat-Su Pretrial without bail. Investigation is still on going, future charges are expected.

    On 6/26/2024 at approximately 1145 hours, Troopers with Palmer Judicial Services arrested Frank Oyagak III, age 37, of Palmer, at a residence in Palmer for an outstanding arrest warrant. The warrant was for Failing to Appear at Arraignment and Failing to Comply with Conditions of Release for the original charges of Driving Under the Influence along with six counts of Violating Conditions of Release for a Misdemeanor. Oyagak was remanded to the Mat-Su Pretrial Facility with bail set at $500.00 cash appearance.

    On Tuesday June 25th 2024, at about 2100, Troopers responded to the area of Amanda Loop In North Pole for the report of a Harassment call between ex-boyfriend and girlfriend. Upon further investigation, Michael Turner, was arrested for Harassment 2nd degree DV, Criminal Trespass 1st degree DV, and DUI. Michael was transported to FMH for injuries and blood draw, then transported to FCC.

    On 06/26/2024 at approximately 1517 hours, the Alaska State Troopers received a call from the Fairbanks Emergency Communications Center regarding a reported death in the Fairbanks area. EMS responded to the scene and declared Sergey Marchenko, 61 of Fairbanks, as being deceased. Subsequent investigation revealed the circ*mstances to not be suspicious. Fairbanks Funeral Home & Crematory responded to provide services at the family’s request. Next of kin has been notified of the circ*mstances.

    On June 26, 2024, at approximately 1717 hours, Fairbanks AST responded to the area of Gold Mine Trail for a report of a domestic disturbance involving juveniles. AST transported one of the juveniles to a youth outreach program. Investigation is ongoing.

    Type: Sport Lingcod Closed Season

    Dispatch Text:

    On 6/20/24, Alaska Wildlife Troopers, Sitka Post, contacted Daniel Nist, age 27 of Washington, sport fishing near Salisbury Sound. Investigation revealed Nist had retained a lingcod when lingcod retention was closed for non-resident sport fishing. The lingcod was seized and donated to a local charity. Nist was cited, with bail set at $170, in the district court at Sitka.

    On 06/24/2024 at approximately 1515 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team conducted a traffic stop on a tan Chevy SUV for expired registration on Lucille Street in Wasilla. The driver was identified as Mark Wellman by his Alaska driver's license. Investigation revealed Wellman to have an outstanding arrest warrant for Failure to Appear for court on the original charge of Criminal Mischief 3rd Degree. Wellman was remanded to MAT-SU Pretrial where he was held on a $200 bail.

    Type: Furnish Alcohol to Minor

    Dispatch Text:

    On 06/21/2024 at approximately 2046 hours, the Highway Interdiction K9 Team and Advanced Training Unit investigated an observation of an adult purchasing alcohol for a minor. The adult was identified as Cody O'Mara by his Texas driver's license. Investigation revealed O'Mara met a female under 21 years old at the Holiday Gas Station in Meadow Lakes where he purchased her alcohol and placed it into her trunk. The minor was stopped by AST and the alcohol was seized. O'Mara was issued a criminal summons to appear in court for Furnishing Alcohol to a Minor.
