So tasty! I've made this again and again. The spiciness of the ginger is a great compliment to the pepperiness of the arugula. To increase fiber, lately I have been swapping out the orange juice for 1/2 of an orange, and use water as my liquid instead. It's still plenty sweet for me. If the greens taste a little too green for me that day, adding the tiniest bit (1/2-1 tsp) of apple cider vinegar seems to help balance them.

This was delicious! And I don't love smoothies. I added a squeeze of fresh lime juice which brought out the brightness.

Should the chia seeds be dry? Or 1/2 a teaspoon of pre-soaked chia seeds? I know Martha Rose calls for pre-soaked chia seeds in other smoothie recipes

I'm new to making smoothies. But it took me forever to get my KitchenAid blender to do this, and I had to add lots of water. Is there a good order to add ingredients to or is that typical?

Delicious. Instead of orange juice I cut a whole orange into eighths (including the peel) and added a fair amount of water. More nutrients, less waste, and a more complex flavor. Like others I used frozen pineapple and omitted the ice cubes.

Yes, yum is right. Not a smoothie person, but have tons of greens and arugula from my garden, and this is a great way to have them for breakfast! I've experimented with watermelon (too watery) and different greens (watercress -- yuck! too spicy), but the original recipe is my go-to.

Surprisingly delicious! Made with a little fried coconut instead of cashews (didn’t have cashews). Not too sweet and great flavor!

Refreshing. Tripled the recipe as I am experimenting freezing individual portions. Interested in seeing how they freeze and then unthaw so I can take one to work with me. My pineapple was very ripe yet the smoothie was not too sweet which I prefer. Will add more ginger next time, could barely taste it with this batch.

delicious and nutritious! i swapped out the chia feed for flax meal since that’s what i had around the house. i also prefer the texture. make sure to get raw cashews. roasted, salted ones lead to an odd mouth feel and taste.

Try gingerade kombucha as the liquid! So good in smoothies.

Our CSA sent us tons of green bell peppers. Desperate to use them up I threw one in here. Yum!

Fine with water instead of OJ.

Used kale instead of the arugula and baby greens and frozen mango instead of pineapple. No orange juice, just water. Still came out great!

Excellent. Incredibly healthy, leaves a great taste in your mouth and keeps you happily full.

This was a success and I hope to make it again, but I altered the recipe somewhat due to what was on hand: had to use spinach, not arugula, so got a milder result. Lime juice tried by another writer would have been good, but saw the note too late. I used frozen pineapple juice concentrate mixed with water to make 3/4 cup and added 1/4 tangerine (with its thin skin) and one large basil leaf. I'll make it the same way next time, except I'll use arugula, not spinach.
