    Application deadline for Canadian direct-entry secondary school students wishing to be considered for a first round offer of admission.

    Graduate Studies: Application deadline for students wishing to apply for Affiliated Fellowships (Master’s level) and CIHR, NSERC, and SSHRC Canada Graduate Scholarships Master’s “CGS M”.

    Students wishing to be considered for a Presidential Scholars Award must submit their online application for admission to UBC by December 1. This includes paying the admission fee and submitting in-progress or final Grade 11 and Grade 12 marks as or if requested in the online application.     Student Housing: Last day of Winter Session Residence Contract for Winter Session Term 1-only residents.

    Student Housing: Totem Park, Place Vanier, and Orchard Commons Residences close at 12 pm for the holiday break and all residents required to vacate by that time. These residences will reopen at 12 pm, Sunday, January 5, 2025.

    Boxing Day. University closed.

    Reduced services in most departments until Friday, January 3, 2025.

    Graduate Studies: Last day for graduate students employed as Teaching and Research Assistants to apply for deferral of Winter Session Term 2 (January to April) tuition fees.

  13. November 2024

    Last day for sponsored students to submit application to have fees billed to a sponsoring organization for Winter Session Term 2 (January to April) tuition fees. Students who do not submit their applications by the deadline will be required to pay their second instalment of Winter Session tuition fees by January 10, 2025 to avoid financial hold procedures (see Fees).

    Remembrance Day. University closed. Service in War Memorial Gymnasium for all students, faculty, alumni, staff, and friends at 10:45 am.

    Winter Session Term 1 midterm break begins for most faculties (November 11 to November 13 inclusive). Lectures and laboratories cancelled. Some branches of the Library and other facilities remain open.

    International Master of Business Administration (IMBA): First day of mandatory Orientation and Program Opening (November 14).
