Okay it’s Monday, but no any ordinary Monday. We’re capping off a holiday weekend and looking ahead to a fantastic week of to-dos that are priming us for a season of summer freebies.

This May 27-31 in Los Angeles, you’ll find the final day of Fiesta Hermosa, the 10th Annual Taste of South Pasadena, a live jazz series at CAAM, Friday Night wine tastings at Barnsdall Park, Outdoor Movies at the Skirball, WeHo Pride, and more. Let’s jump into the full list below!

L.A. Fleet Week – FA > This year’s L.A. Fleet Week wraps up on Monday with a Festival of Sail featuring maritime demos, kid-friendly STEAM activities, historic reenactors, unique photo ops, knot typing, crafts, and more. Free to attend. Runs 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Get the full schedule of events here.

Fiesta Hermosa – FA > Memorial Day weekend in Hermosa Beach means one thing: Fiesta Hermosa! This weekend’s three-day festival (concluding on Monday) features a marketplace with over 240 vendors, multiple stages of live music, a wine garden, food fair and a carnival. Admission is free. Smorgasburg BBQ Invitational Memorial Weekend Carnival -> Catch some finger-licking good fun at Santa Park with the Smorgasburg BBQ Invitational and Memorial Day Weekend Carnival, which concludes a 3-day run on Monday. Smorg has currated seven local BBQ joints to participate, including Domestic BBQ, , Island Smoke & Grill, Mecha BBQ, Nia & Jags, Saulitos, Zef BBQ, and Beatdown BBQ. FROGS: Facing a Changing World at AoP -> The Aquarium of the Pacific recently opened a new exhibit that spotlights the colorful, strange, and rapidly changing world offrogs. Visitors can explore an array of vibrant habitats featuring colorful tropicalfrogsfrom around the world, and can learn about the threats facing these animals in the wild today and what can be done to help. Included with adult admission, which starts at $44.95. Remember that on weekends and holidays, advanced reservations are required. More info here.

Kraftwerk at Disney Concert Hall– M TP> German electro music pioneers Kraftwerk are coming to the Walt Disney Concert Hall for a run of shows that will celebrate the band’s discography, with each night featuring one complete album plus additional compositions from their catalog. The show wraps up this week with a trio of shows: Tuesday (featuring The Mix), Wednesday (featuring Tour de France), and Thursday (a finale with compositions from the entire catalog). 10th Annual Taste of South Pasadena – M > This Tuesday, sample food along Mission and Fair Oaks and enjoy live music in a family-friendly atmosphere during Taste of Pasadena. Presented by the Rotary Club of South Pasadena the event features over 30 food and drink stops including an additional VIP section with 19 wine, beer and spirits participants. Tickets start at $20 for youth, $45 for adults, and $80 for the VIP food and alcohol package. More info here.

The Comedy Patio – M FA > Free standup comedy comes to Grand Central Market this Wednesday in the form of The Comedy Patio, a showcase taking place at Maple Block. Jeff Buck hosts a lineup featuring Paul Elia, Nicole Tran, Tony Sam, Renee Gauthier, Holly Brown, Madison Shepard, and Terrence Murphy. Free to attend, but donations happily accepted. Jazz @ CAAM – M FA > The California African American Museum debuts an evening concert series this Thursday, as American alto saxophonist and singer-songwriter Braxton Cook stops by for a performance. It’s free to attend with RSVP. Starts at 7 p.m. More info here.

Autry After Hours: May Music Nights & Cowboy co*cktails -> On Thursday, enjoy live music on the plaza at The Autry with singer song writer Max Axton, sip on co*cktails and nosh on barbecue while partaking in cowboy trivia. Tickets cost $18 and also include after-hours museum access. More info here.

WeHo Pride – TP > WeHo Pride 2024 has a weekend-long celebratio in store, starting with Friday Night at OUTLOUD (headlined by Kesha), then Saturday’s OUTLOUD at WeHo Pride music festival and the annual Dyke March and Women’s Freedom Festival, all capped by annual WeHo Pride Parade on Sunday. Additionally, entertainment venues in West Hollywood’s Rainbow District along historic Route 66 will host numerous special Pride events. More info here.

Outdoor Movies at the Skirball: The NeverEnding Story – TP > The Skirball’s annual outdoor movies series returns this Friday with a screening of the 1984 classic The NeverEnding Story. FollowFalkor and Atreyu’s journey as they save the magical realm from The Nothing. Plus: guests are invited to come early to view the latest Skirball exhibitionWild Things Are Happening: The Art of Maurice Sendak. Tickets start at $20. More info here.

Friday Night Wine Tastings at Barnsdall Park – M TP > After a five-year hiatus, Friday night wine tasting events are back at the Barnsdall Art Park West Lawn. A $45 ticket gets you a flight of wine curated by Silverlake Wine, plus access to a rotation of food trucks, all supported by tunes from local DJs and sweet sunset views of the Hollywood Sign and Griffith Park Observatory. Venice Pride Block Party – FA > The Friday, the Venice Pride Block Party brings music sets by DJ Victor Rodriguez, a queer market place, food trucks, community booths and vendors, all centered around 99 Winward Ave in Venice. Runs 5 to 11 p.m. Free to attend. More info here.

Is Car Culture The Ultimate Act of Community? – M FA > This Friday Zócalo Public Square pairs artist and sculptor Charles Dickson along with Destination Crenshaw founding lead historian Larry Earl for a discussion on Dickson’s sculpture, “Car Culture,” which will be on permanent display in Sankofa Park. The conversation will explore the relevance of public art projects and cruising scenes throughout Southern California as tool to bridge community divides. Free to attend. Get more info here.

Jazz at LACMA–FA> The Los Angeles County Museum of Art’s annual Friday Night Jazz series is back for a season of free weekly concerts at Smidt Welcome Plaza through November. This week: a performance by award-winning singer, songwriter, producer, and arranger Sweet Baby J’ai.And remember that LACMA is free to visit for L.A. Barbie Movie Night – M FA> On Friday Ivy Station in Culver City hosts a free screening of Barbie with complimentary popcorn and a costume contest. Lawn opens at 7:15 p.m., movie starts at 8:15 p.m. More info here.

National Burger Day at Rita’s Deluxe -> On Tuesday, Rita’s Deluxe is offering $9 Rita’s Burgers with fries all day. Available for dine-in only, Rita’s burger includes a grass-fed Strauss beef patty topped with Rita’s special sauce, white onion, lettuce, and a mix of American and white cheddar cheese sandwiched between sesame seed buns.

atí Pop Up at All Day Baby -> Starting this Thursday, May 30, Andrew Ponce is bringing his pop-up, Atí, to All Day Baby for eight Thursday/Friday nights from May to June. The menu will feature Modern Mexican dishes like tacos, mariscos, crispy duck mole, tostadas, and cocteles. Reservations are available on Tock. More info here.

Uchi West HollywoodHappy Hour Launch -> Starting this Wednesday, Uchi West Hollywood will unveil a brand-new happy hour menu. Featured items include Wagyu Tartare Bite for $8, Crispy Pork Belly with maitake custard and sweet soy for $14, a Spicy Crunchy Salmon Hand Roll for $13, and Cheesecake with strawberry, Earl Grey tea, and cardamom for $8. Guests can also indulge in an eight-course omakase for $95. The happy hour menu is available every day from 5-6pm, but reservations are required.
